When faced with a sudden water emergency, it is extremely important to prioritize your own personal safety. Be mindful of potential dangers and follow the tips below:

  • Keep away from standing water to prevent injury from falling. Make sure children and pets are prevented from entering the area as well.
  • Do not wade into water in which you can’t see the bottom as electrical outlets could be affected, resulting in an extremely dangerous situation.
  • Refrain from attempting to remove wet materials as they are very heavy and moving them can result in injury. Cutting walls can damage hidden pipes and electrical wires.
  • Determine if the water loss is preventing you from living safely in your home. Obstacles to safe living could include weakened flooring or ceiling areas.
