Mold on the Ceiling
When atmospheric conditions are favorable, mold is provided with an ideal growing environment. Mold is able to thrive on a variety of building materials including wood, concrete, carpeting, drywall and insulation. While inspecting the home pictured in the photos, SERVPRO of South Jersey City/Bayonne’s mold remediation team discovered mold growth on the wood portion of the ceiling between the rafters. Using wire brushes and special cleaning agents, the team was able to successfully remove the mold from the affected areas. The cleaned area was then sealed with a protective layer of special mold inhibiting formula. Air scrubbing machines were also placed to ensure the air in the immediate area of the ceiling was clear of mold spores for safe breathing.
